(GREENWOOD, SC June 6, 2017)- Only 100 Registered Nurses across the state of South Carolina are honored by the Palmetto Gold Nurse Recognition and Scholarship Program each year. Self Regional Healthcare is proud to announce that one of its team members has been recognized by this organization with the Palmetto Gold Award for 2017.

Cynthia Kinney, Director of the Emergency Care Center and Wound Healing Institute at Self Regional healthcare, was among the esteemed Nurses included in the program’s list of Palmetto Gold winners for Nurse Leaders/Management.

Cynthia has 23 years of Registered Nursing experience and is an avid leader at the Emergency Care Center and also at the Wound Healing Institute at Self Regional. She is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN).

As a highly engaged leader, Cynthia was selected to attend and represent Self Regional at the Gallup Great Workplace Awards Gala in 2013. Additionally, she presented her work and Self Regional’s journey to improve patient satisfaction at the Studer Conference in 2014, and was also presented the 2014 Outstanding Achievement in Patient Satisfaction Award for outstanding work she and her team accomplished on behalf of Self Regional Healthcare patients. In 2016, Cynthia received Certification in the Workplace Accountability Certification Course.

Outside of her diligent work at Self Regional, Ms. Kinney is also a very active member in the community and has volunteered significant time with the Clemson University 4-H Horsemanship program. Cynthia volunteers with local youth, coaching them in interview skills for scholarships, as well as college and job applications.
