Self Regional Healthcare Carepages

What are CarePages?

CarePages are free, easy-to-use Web pages that help family and friends communicate while a loved one is receiving care at Self Regional Healthcare and even after the patient goes home.

CarePages help families:

• Create a virtual meeting place on the Web
• Share news and photographs as often as needed
• Receive emotional support during a time of need

Why set up a CarePage?

When a loved one is hospitalized or receiving care, it can be difficult to communicate. With CarePages, updates are shared via e-mail automatically, and visitors can leave messages for the patient and family on the Web page.

Creating a CarePage

• If you want to get started sharing information while in the hospital, you can connect to Self Regional Guest Access, a wireless network with access points in the patient tower, most patient care areas in the main hospital, and dining and waiting areas. Laptop computers equipped with wireless capability can access the Internet from patient rooms. For information about wireless access, see page 8 of the Patient and Family Information Guide.

• If you do not have a laptop computer, there are computers available for use in the Community Health Information Center and the Medical Library on the sixth floor of the main building. They are open from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

• Patients or family members can create a CarePage before or after a hospital stay and keep the page active for as long as they want. You can log on from your home computer. Regardless of the connection you choose, log onto the Internet, go to the hospital's Web site at www.selfregional.org , and click on the CarePages link on the main page. Click on “Create a CarePage” and follow the simple instructions.

Patient privacy

With CarePages you can securely share patient updates with people who have been chosen to receive information. Patient privacy is protected through this service, and all content is provided and posted by the patient and/or family. Patients and/or family members are fully responsible for their CarePages. Because of patient privacy laws, hospital staff cannot assist with the creation, content, or management of any CarePage.
Please keep your member name and password private.
