Bereaved Parents Support Group
This group is open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a child. Meetings are at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Hospice Center on Alexander Street. Call Charles or Christine Schwartz at (864) 942-0356 for information.
Cancer Support Group
Provides support, fellowship and information to patients and their significant others before, during and after treatment. Meets at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Medical Oncology conference room on the second floor of Self Regional Medical Center. Greenwood Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
National Alliance for Mental Illnes-NAMI Support Group-meets every Monday night in the Administrative Dining Room 2nd floor Self Regional from 6-7:30 pm. Greenwood Ostomy Support Group

Self Directions
Self Directions is a support group event that provides the opportunity for survivors of strokes and other life altering medical events to come together for sharing and education along with caregivers. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every even month (bi-monthly) from noon to 1:30 at Optimum Life Center in the first floor classroom. Please call 725-7072 for more information.
Breast Cancer Education Program

Breastfeeding Classes
Learn everything you need to know to establish a successful breastfeeding relationship with your new baby. This information-packed class covers how to get started, returning to school or work, weaning and much more. Classes are from 7-8 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month and from 1-2 p.m. the second Monday of each month. Location of classes will be provided upon registration. Childbirth Classes
Topics include nutrition, proper breathing, exercise, what to do when you come to the hospital and pain management. These classes take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. Classes take place in the hospital Private Dining Room. The cost is $50. Diabetes Community Classes

OB Tours
Conducted for expecting parents at 10 a.m. the second Monday of each month and at 7:30 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month. For information, call (864) 725-6216.
Starting Off Right, Early Pregnancy Classes
These free classes are for anyone 3-6 months pregnant. Issues discussed include anatomy and vocabulary, nutrition, exercising, signs of pre-term labor, routine tests done during pregnancy and questions to ask your doctor. Moms will receive a baby care video, information handout, gift bag and information of what you will learn in childbirth classes. Classes take place from 7-8:30 p.m. Class dates for 2009 are January 29th, April 29th, July 29th, and October 28th in the private dining room at Self Regional Medical Center. Weight Loss Surgery Information Sessions
We have two surgeons who perform Bariatric surgery. Free information sessions are offered twice a month, usually the second Tuesday and the third Thursday of the month.
