Behavioral Services

Everyday life can be overwhelming, and sometimes people need help coping with their problems. Getting help might not require an overnight stay at the hospital, but might require more frequent and comprehensive therapy than a traditional outpatient setting.

To meet those needs, Self Regional Healthcare has developed two treatment options: the Partial Hospitalization Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program. Each is designed to provide the level of treatment and care most appropriate for each person’s needs.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is an intensive, short-term program that provides support and treatment for adults facing mental or emotional difficulties. Our skilled and caring staff can help people experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders and other mental health conditions.

The overall goals of PHP are to help participants take the initial steps on their road to recovery, gain a better understanding of their illness, cope more effectively, prevent the need for inpatient hospitalization and transition to less-intensive treatment with improvement.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is another intensive, short-term program that incorporates most of the components of PHP in a flexible schedule of six to nine hours per week. This flexibility often allows participants to continue working while receiving the intensive therapy they need. IOP also is helpful in transitioning participants to a less-intensive level of care.

Referrals
Referrals to PHP or IOP may be made by any physician, healthcare professional, mental health professional, social service agency, family member or the person requesting care. Referrals are accepted from 8:00 a.m. - 4:40 p.m. Monday through Friday by contacting the program coordinator. For information, call (864) 725-4390 or (864) 725-4392.
