(Greenwood, SC., Nov. 10, 2014) – The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation and title sponsor Greenwood Capital Associates and Countybank are pleased to announce the 27th Annual Mid-Winter Ball will be co-chaired by Priya Kumar, M.D., and Megha Lal. This signature community event, scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2015, will feature an exotic theme “A Passage To India” that takes guests on an incredible journey.

Dr. Kumar is an interventional cardiologist with Piedmont Cardiology Associates in Greenwood and Mrs. Lal is a nutritionist, community leader and board member of the Greenwood County Community Foundation. Both women hail from Indian roots, which inspired the event’s theme.

“Guests can anticipate authentic Indian décor in an atmosphere that is elegant and bold in color and fun,” commented Ball Co-Chair Mrs. Lal. “In addition, guests will be invited to enjoy an Indian-inspired menu that blends signature Indian dishes with a fusion of flavors to suit any palate.”

The black-tie event, a sell out for the past five years, will feature the Atlanta Party Band as musical entertainment, and feature a silent auction chaired by Casey Tompkins. The 2015 Mid-Winter Ball will raise money to benefit AccessHealth Lakelands, a community health outreach initiative that serves uninsured adults with chronic medical conditions who otherwise may not have access to healthcare providers to manage their care.

Since its inception, the Mid-Winter Ball has raised more than $2.7 million on behalf of Self Regional Healthcare. Community members may purchase tickets beginning in December. For additional information, please visit www.selfregionalfoundation.org or call the Foundation office at (864) 725-4256.
