(GREENWOOD, SC June 14, 2017)- The Deans and select faculty members of Piedmont Technical College, met with Self Regional Clinicians and Department leaders on Friday, June 2, 2017 to discuss the growing need for skilled healthcare workers in the Lakelands, and to brainstorm innovative new initiatives to prepare students for those careers.

President and CEO of Self Regional Healthcare, Jim Pfeiffer said, “It’s very important for us to work closely with area educators to address the growing need for more healthcare workers. We appreciate the opportunity for creative discussion and cooperation on important issues with key local partners such as Greenwood Promise, Lander University, Piedmont Technical College and others.”

During the meeting, Self Regional presented Piedmont Technical College with two checks amounting in over $16,000 to fund scholarships for fifteen students enrolled in the CNA certification program, offered at Piedmont Tech and supported by Self Regional Healthcare.

This innovative program offers paid training for four weeks and guaranteed employment at Self Regional as a Patient Care Technician, upon completion.
