Dr. Holzhauer is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She completed a two year General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and maintained part-time private practice concurrently. After electing to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Holzhauer finished a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She has been in private practice specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Greenwood since completing her residency, and was board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999.

Dr. Holzhauer presently maintains private practice in Greenwood, SC with active hospital privledges at Self Regional Hospital, and serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics in Augusta, Georgia. She is a current member of the local and state of SC dental societies, and completed the recertification examination in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to maintain Diplomate status.
