Volunteering is a great way to broaden your skills and knowledge, expand your resume, and touch the lives of others while exploring new career opportunities. We even have special programs for teens and college students!
Ready to get started?
Here are the steps you need to take:
- Start by completing the Online Application below.
- Interview with Volunteer Services.
- Background check for volunteers 18 years and older. (The minimum age to volunteer is 16.)
- Health screening: drug and TB tests, and immunization records review.
- Assignment of start date, shirt and badge.
- Complete orientation.
- A flu vaccine is required annually (October through March) and is provided free of charge through Employee Health.

Since 1971, countless people have opened their hearts in service to our patients, families, visitors and staff, creating an atmosphere of warmth and welcome. Volunteers assist with non-clinical duties and make each day a little brighter for someone.
Ruby Clark Serenity Garden
This garden, designed and produced by the Piedmont Tech Horticulture Technology Program, will be a place where patients, family and team members can go to find peace and calm during stressful times.
The garden was funded by the SRH Volunteer Auxiliary’s 2024 Lights for Love Campaign and is named in memory of Ruby Clark, a former SRH Volunteer Director who started the lights for Love program.

Self Regional Gift Shop
Welcome to the Self Regional Healthcare Gift Shop. Our gift shop offers a large selection of beautiful gifts to lift the spirits of our patients during their hospital stay. The shop is owned and operated by the Self Regional Healthcare Auxiliary and all proceeds are donated back to the hospital. These funds provide for capital investments in equipment and services for our patients and their families.
Hours of Operation
Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The gift shop, a non-profit organization, has been in operation since 1972

Location
Located conveniently in the atrium near the tower elevators, the shop features SELF Regional logo apparel, flower arrangements, balloons, baby gifts, stuffed animals, jewelry, books, and holiday items.
You can also find personal care items, snacks, and a fantastic selection of greeting cards.
The friendly staff is always ready to assist with gift selection, wrapping, and even delivery within the hospital.
