Emergency Care Center
Emergency Care
For life-threatening emergencies, go directly to the Emergency Care Center at Self Regional Medical Center. The entrance and parking are located on the Edgefield Street side of the hospital.
Our Emergency Care Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is equipped to care for patients of all ages. As a designated Level II trauma center, our team is prepared to treat serious and complex injuries.
You may also hear this area referred to as the ER, Emergency Room, or Emergency Department.
What to Expect
Our team provides care based on the severity of each patient’s condition. This means patients with the most serious or life-threatening needs are treated first.
During your visit, you may receive testing, treatment, or be referred to a specialist if needed. Before you leave, you’ll receive instructions for follow-up care.
Our Team
The Emergency Care Center is staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other trained healthcare professionals who are experienced in emergency care.
Visitation Guidelines
- Up to two visitors (age 10 and older) may be at the bedside at a time
- Visitors may be asked to step out during certain procedures or when space is limited
- In some situations, visitation may be adjusted based on patient care needs
