Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Why did I have to wait so long to see the doctor?
A) We strive to get patients in to see the doctor at their appointment time. However, each patient is an individual and circumstances do sometimes require the doctor to spend extra time in consultation with the patient. We appreciate your understanding. Also, emergencies arise and sometimes computer failures cause delays. When this happens, we will try our best to keep you informed. If you have waited more than 20 minutes past your appointment time, please speak with the receptionist.
Q) Why do I have to come to the office and sign a release for you to send my child's vaccination records to a school nurse? Proof of vaccination is required before a child can be enrolled in school.
A) Under HIPAA regulations, physicians may release protected health information (PHI) without authorization for treatment, payment or healthcare operations. School enrollment does not fall into any of these categories. We cannot release this information to the school without your signed authorization.
