Foundation raises $100,000 at Mid-Winter Ball

The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation’s 38th Annual Mid-Winter Ball: A Mediterranean Soirée, at Lander University, welcomed nearly 600 guests for an evening of celebration, community and philanthropy, raising about $117,000 in support of a new 3D mobile mammography unit that will expand access to lifesaving screenings across the Lakelands.

With this year’s success, the Mid-Winter Ball has now raised an impressive $385,000 over the past three years toward making the mobile mammography unit a reality. This continued momentum reflects the generosity of the community and brings the Foundation one step closer to delivering critical breast health services directly to underserved areas, increasing access to early detection and ultimately saving lives.

The event, led by Ball Chairs Davis Renee Migdalas and Chelsea Castellone, featured a vibrant Mediterranean theme, transforming the space with elegant décor, exceptional cuisine, and lively entertainment. Guests enjoyed music by the PUNCH Band, a widely praised culinary experience prepared by the Self Regional Healthcare Food & Nutrition team, and an exciting Silent Auction that raised just over $47,000, made possible through the continued generosity of local businesses.

“It was incredibly special to see our community come together for such an important cause,” shared Migdalas and Castellone. “The support and energy in the room made the evening truly unforgettable, and we are so grateful to be part of something that will make a lasting impact on the health of our community.”

“This event is a true reflection of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared purpose,” Glenda Corley, board chair, said. “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and guests who made this evening such a success.”
