Greenwood Non Profits Receive Funds from Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee

(Greenwood, S.C., April 21, 2022) – Two area nonprofits were granted funds by Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee to improve their services to the community. The Boys and Girls Club of the Lakelands Region aims to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Their organization received $100,000 to support its comprehensive program and assist with acquiring transportation to allow greater access to more youth in the community. Community Initiatives, Inc. was granted $205,610 by the committee. This request will help support the medical clinic, La Clinica Gratis/The Free Clinic, create and sustain a community garden that provides fresh food to low-income families & senior citizens, transportation, and health screenings for children 2-10 years of age.
