“Affiliations are not unusual,” stated Rod Boula, AAMC Interim CEO.  “Factors such as low reimbursement rates, increased and very complex regulation, reduced patient volumes, and increased amounts of free and reduced cost uncompensated care are affecting both small and large hospitals nationwide.  Affiliation is one way we can work together with other healthcare organizations to reduce cost and continue to provide the most convenient, quality healthcare possible.” 

This designation is made based on the following criteria:

Outstanding execution of an annual campaign
Service and volunteerism for the better good
Advocacy on behalf of the United Way of the Lakelands
Stellar Leadership within the community that sets a positive example for all

Since the recent announcement that South Carolina is fourth in the country for a predicted nursing shortage in the next decade, the Self Regional Scholars Program was designed as a solution, aiming to create a secure and confident group of qualified nurses for our communities.
