Located in the hospital Atrium, the Legacy of Life Tree stands as a lasting tribute to individuals whose decision to become organ donors gave others a second chance at life.

Each name placed on the tree represents a story of generosity, courage, and compassion. These individuals leave behind a legacy that continues to impact patients, families, and entire communities in profound and lasting ways.

Self Regional Healthcare works closely with Sharing Hope SC, South Carolina’s federally designated, nonprofit organ procurement organization (OPO), to facilitate the organ, eye, and tissue donation process. In addition to coordinating donation, their team provides ongoing care and resources for donor families, offering support, opportunities to share their loved one’s story, and meaningful ways to honor their legacy over time.

The tree was unveiled during a special ceremony that brought together families, friends, team members, and community partners. It created a meaningful space for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude, honoring lives that continue through the gift of donation.

As visitors pass through the Atrium, the Legacy of Life Tree offers a quiet place to pause and reflect on the power of selflessness, and the enduring impact one life can have on many.
