(Greenwood, S.C., November 16, 2015) – Self Regional Healthcare Foundation recently awarded three Piedmont Technical College students scholarships to assist with their respiratory therapy studies.
Jacob Lawrence of Iva and Crystal Tinch of Greenwood are recipients of the M. John and Drenda Heydel Respiratory Therapy Scholarship and each received $1,000 in scholarship funds. Both are second-year respiratory therapy program students.
The M. John and Drenda Heydel Respiratory Therapy scholarship, named in honor of former respiratory therapist and Self Regional Healthcare President and CEO John Heydel and his wife Drenda, is available to first- and second-year students enrolled in the respiratory therapy program at Piedmont Technical College.
Senchia Wilson of Newberry is the recipient of the Frank Spoone Memorial Respiratory Therapy Scholarship and received $500 in scholarship funds. Wilson is also a second-year program student.
The Frank Spoone Memorial Respiratory Therapy Scholarship was established in memory of Frank Spoone, one of the most dedicated respiratory therapists to serve at Self Regional Healthcare. Spoone passed away in 2004 and his friends and colleagues established this scholarship for respiratory therapy students who attend Piedmont Technical College and wish to work at Self Regional Healthcare after graduation.
