10 AEDs to be given away through grant

Grant Program to Award 10 Life-Saving Devices

The Self Regional Heart and Vascular Center is launching a community-based Automatic External Defibrillator, or AED, grant program. Our goal is to increase awareness of what to do in a cardiac emergency, train more people on how to perform hands-only CPR and to equip various facilities in the area with AEDs in case of an emergency.

Student volunteer alumna Kandace Ryans is now an LPN working at Internal Medicine of the Piedmont. Ms. Ryans worked as a student volunteer for many summers during high school.

Self Regional Seeks Summer Volunteers for 2015

Self Regional Healthcare’s Volunteer Services department is now accepting applications for student volunteers for the summer. Student volunteers are an important part of the health system’s volunteer program, and offer young adults a first-hand experience into the day-to-day operations of a healthcare environment. Self Regional has a maximum of 35 slots for high school volunteers, so students are encouraged to begin and submit their applications prior to the April 17 deadline.
