(Greenwood, S.C., September 25, 2023) Laurens County Cancer Association, Healthy Learners and Emerald City Rotary Foundation were recently awarded funds from Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee.

Laurens County Cancer Association received $20,000 to be used towards fuel assistance allotted to the patients with cancer they serve. This along with their other offerings allow patients to make it to their treatments and appointments.

Healthy Learners received $30,000 from Self Regional’s Community Health Committee for essential program operating costs such as direct service staff (dedicated to Greenwood and Laurens Counties), child

transportation, both of which eliminate barriers to accessing necessary and preventive health care services.

Emerald City Rotary Foundation was granted $5,000 to allow participation of 200 children for 1 year in the Greenwood Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. The requested funds would cover the cost of 12 books for each child particiapnt, for a total of approximately 2,400 books.
