The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Kenneth R. “Ken” Coffey, II as new Executive Director of the Foundation. Coffey assumed the position in August 2015.
Self Regional Healthcare has been named a Gallup Great Workplace for an eighth consecutive year. Self Regional is just 40 organizations in the world named to the 2015 list. “Receiving an eighth Gallup Great Workplace Award is an incredible honor for our organization, and shows the world the amazing commitment our team members have to our patients,” said Jim Pfeiffer, president and CEO of Self Regional Healthcare.
Self Regional Healthcare’s Montgomery Center for Family Medicine was recently recognized for having the highest level of patient-centered care. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) gave the practice Level Three Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) certification – its highest level of achievement.
The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation hosted its annual nursing scholarship luncheon in June and awarded 8 scholarships for a combined amount of $8,000.
The list of 2015 AED grant recipients is filled with incredible organizations that serve the Lakelands community. Representatives from the 10 organizations chosen to receive an AED were trained on how to use the device in an emergency and how to maintain the equipment during mid-June at Self Regional.
Two Piedmont Technical College students have been awarded scholarships to assist with their respiratory therapy studies. Breon Hunter of Laurens and Jonathan Riddle of Ware Shoals are first-year program recipients of a M. John and Drenda Heydel Respiratory Therapy Scholarship, and have received $1000 each in scholarship funds.
Women in the Lakelands who are uninsured or can’t afford a needed mammogram just received a priceless gift—Self Regional Healthcare has been selected as a 2015 Susan G. Komen Mountains to Midlands grant recipient. The SRH Cancer Center will receive $52,453 to be used over the next 12 months for medical imaging such as mammograms and diagnostic tests and breast health education and screening outreach.
The Women’s Health Classic kicks off its week-long schedule of activities in Greenwood, SC on Monday, May 4, and runs through May 10 with the Mother’s Day afternoon announcement of the winner of the Symetra Tour’s largest purse, totaling $200,000. The second annual tournament also raises the largest charitable donation on the 22-stop national tour, which will support women’s health initiatives at Self Regional, as well as other charities and service organizations in the Lakelands area of S.C.
The Self Regional Heart and Vascular Center is launching a community-based Automatic External Defibrillator, or AED, grant program. The program’s goal is to increase awareness of what to do in a cardiac emergency, train more people on how to perform hands-only CPR and to equip various facilities in the Lakelands region with AEDs in case of an emergency.
The Boards of Self Regional Healthcare and Piedmont Health Group announced today that they have reached an agreement that will bring the majority of Piedmont Health Group practices into Self Medical Group, the physician practice division of Self Regional Healthcare.
